Landscaper in London, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hi , I'm 41 years old, I am still in good physical condition. I have been in the landscaping industry for 24 years. Over the years I have developed an excellent eye for detail and I take great pride and care in every job I do. I'm hard working, reliable and a trustworthy man. I am a strong leader but also humble enough to leave my self open to learn and to be a team player. Over the years I have worked hard to develop my skills to become a well rounded landscaper. In everything I do from headge trimming and shaping bushes, to cutting with tractors or walk- behinds or using a push mower, making sure to crosss cut when needed, leaving straight lines and stripping lawns. Line trimming at proper height not scalping lawns or trimming down to dirt, knowing when to edge, sidewalks, curbs, gardens, and when to flat trim and how much to flat trim out corners or high curbs depending on the machine that's cutting behind you. Seeing a pattern when you pull on to a site, so you not back tracking or missing things. There is even a nack to blowing a site off properly. I know some people like to say even a monkey can cut grass, well I don't agree, over the years I have seen a lot of strong men come and go, roofers, construction workers or just general labourers and they couldn't make it, either they could not learn how to use the equipment properly or when the heat came they could not handle it. I believe landscaping is a skilled trade just like any other trade and should be viewed as such and all of us that have given or life to this job and career should be respected for what we do. I know for myself I put quality and care in all the jobs I do big or small, be it landscape maitanence or landscape construction. I have my First-Aid&CPR certificate, WHMIS cert, Ontario Health And Safety cert, I have also gone through the CHT training and testing through Landscape Ontario. I have worked at McKinley Horticultural , that is where I got my start and learned the basics to landscaping. It's also my years there were I began to fall in love with the job. I spent 5 years there, but I was hungry for more and there just was no room room for me to grow there. I was then hired on by Clintar to be a crew leader. It was at Clintar that I really began to develop my skills and really began to bring quality to the sites I was responsible for. My years at Clintar were great and I learnt a lot. In the winter I plowed snow in a Kabota tractor. I stayed at Clintar for 6 years. I left because I wanted to get in with a smaller company, somewhere that I felt I could make a difference. I got hired on by Turf Pro Landscaping. For the first 5 years I was a crew leader, I was then promoted to Manager/crew leader. My duties included but not limited to, I looked after and maintained all the high end sites, I was also responsible for the training of all new employees. I would go around and do site checks to make sure the properties were getting done properly and things did not get missed or over looked. I would also keep an eye on the crews to make sure the work was getting done efficiently and safely. When the boss would go out of town for bussiness or go on vacation I would look after the entire company, take the phone calls and E-mails, handle any problems or situations that would come up, making sure everthing ran smoothly. I also have experience quoting maintanence contracts and construction jobs. I was at Turf Pro for 11 years, In the winters I plowed snow in 4x4 trucks. I left Turf Pro to pursue my dream of having my own landscape company. Everything was going really good for a couple years, I had a couple good sized commercial sites and some residentials, I also would take on small jobs landscape jobs on the side, putting in a garden, sodding a property, relay of interlocking brick driveways and so on. But because of personal issues and having a hard time financially I had regretibly give up my company. I have full G licence, clean abstract. No criminal backround. So that leaves me were I am now, I'm in desparate need of a job, I'm a home owner , I already had to sell my vehicle so I have no car or truck at the moment. I just really want to work but here is the one issue that I need to be up front about . I had some teeth surgery a few years back and I ended up getting myself addicted to pain killers, I needed to get off but I did not want to stop working so I decided to go on methadone , at the time I thought it was my only really option. I regret everything. I'm completely sober now and trying to move forward, the problem is I need to get a drink once a day that takes about 5 minutes. Right now I get it downtown, but there are plenty of other pharmacies that I can get it. It's only for 2 months then I would start getting take home carries and it would not be an issue anymore. Methadone in no way effects my work or my driving. So I'm asking if there is anyone out there that would give me an opportunity, you would not regret it, I would not let you down. I want and need a job desperately. If interested you can text or call me at 226-582-... thnx Jay
