Work Location: Same as above and various locations throughout ON (Stittsville, Kanata, Barhaven, Carp, Richmond, and Ottawa). Type of Employment: Full time – Seasonal (9-month contract) Estimated Start Date: Mid-March 2024 Job Description: Assist with landscape constructions Cart and spread topsoil and other materials Lay sod or seed Rake and collect refuse Excavate for hardscapes Install granular materials Grade Lay patios, walkway, pool surrounds Install retaining walls, garden walls, etc. Install low voltage lighting Remove snow during winter Requirements: - Education: No formal education is required - Experience: Experience is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided. - Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling. - Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Noisy, Dusty, Hot - Personal Suitability: Reliability, Organized, Client focus, Team player, Dependability - Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) - Language: Basic English skills are required Salary: $18.50 hourly, 40 hours per week Benefits: Transportation costs covered if the worker needs to relocate.
