Landscaper Job in Leduc, Alberta

Position Title: General Labourer Start Date: May 1, 2015 Summary: Workers in landscape construction typically perform variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: grading, sod laying, planting, watering, fertilizing, excavating, raking, irrigation installation, water feature installation, patio floors, retaining walls, fencing, and snow removal. As well with the construction, all landscape labourers’ will be trained and knowledgeable with the companies Health and Safety Policy and how to interpret professional landscape designs. Responsibilities • Landscapers plan and construct landscaped environments which may include trees, shrubs, lawns, fences, decks, patios, and other landscape structures. • Understanding of Company Health & Safety Policy • Work as a team • Taking orders from supervisor • Perform physically & mentally demanding tasks • Able to work in all outdoor weather environments • Operate vehicles and powered equipment - truck, skidsteer, tamper, saws, tools, sod cutter, etc. • Shovel snow from sidewalks and parking lots and spread salt in those areas. • Use hand tools – shovels, rakes, saws, trimmers, axes, hammers, etc. • Maintain and repair tools, equipment, or structures • Spread top soil, lay sod, plant trees and shrubs, lay brick and perform other duties to assist with the construction of a landscape and related structures/tasks • Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscape environment (housekeeping) Education • Minimum High school education Wages • Starts at $16.00/hour (10 hour days) then $18/hour after probationary period. • Overtime after 44 hours/week (time and a half) Requirements: • Must have your own vehicle • Steel Toe Boots (CSA approved) • Gloves Note: We continuously get emails looking for work but without transportation (vehicle).
